Our first day of touring Paris took us to the Centre Pompidou. After spending most of the day there, I still have the same opinion of art after 1945; it mostly sucks. The collections inside the Pompidou are of the type that are just so far removed from being able to communicate to the public at large—too esoteric, too full of itself. There were a few pieces that were entertaining or aesthetically pleasing; but mostly it was an afternoon that could have been better spent.
About the best part of the Centre Pompidou was George, the cafe restaurant on the rooftop terrace.
