Checking off the list of obligatory first-time tourist shots:

Walking through the Louvre?

Check!

The Mona Lisa was a little bit to Gigi's left, surrounded by raving tourists who were convinced they could get a better picture of the diminutive Mona Lisa than the thousands of professional photographers before them.

The Mona Lisa is quite small (I knew that already); it's well set back behind ropes; it's covered with protective glass (some lunatic threw turpentine on it some years back); and it's crowded as a mo'fo in front of it. It was a pretty easy piece to skip. Besides, there are better da Vinci paintings, like the Madonna of the Rocks, in the Louvre.
