The bones go from floor to ceiling on both sides and the visitor is not roped off from them at all. Naturally, they don't want the visitors to touch and it seems that nearly everyone respects this (either out of a sense of responsibility or out of macabre fear). In any case, it was refreshing to see visitors treated (and themselves acting) like adults—it's probably because this a is a more obscure, less-visited attraction that the keepers can get away with this.
