Xev & Chico

< Previous  |  Thumbnails  |  Next >

One morning, at about 5:30 a.m., I heard Chico get up and go outside to relieve himself. On his way back to his bed, Chico came into the bedroom to check on us as he often does. But this time, instead of going away when I told him to go back to bed, he stayed. After a few prompts I got out of bed to console him and send him to bed.

In the darkness, I could feel that his lips were puffy and stiff. When we turned on the light, we were met with a poor puffy-faced Chico. The vet's prognosis is that he was stung or bitten by something to which he was allergic. She gave him some steroids and some Benadryl shots and he was fine the next day.

We still cannot look at this picture without verbally saying, "Aawwwwwww."
